A bit confused. I sent an instant payment today and shortly after it I got an e-mail to say that my 'e-cheque' will hopefully clear within the next 5-7 days.

What's the craic with this? It was an instant money transfer I requested! Anyone know?

If its to another country over a certain amount it goes as a e-cheque, its a pain in the :moon:

 

I made a payment on the 24th of October. The transaction has gone through (seller got their money) but the money hasn't been taken from my account.

Phoned Paypal and they said I would have to speak to my bank..

Phoned my bank and said they are waiting for a receipt from Paypal...

No mate, it doesn't expire for 3 years plus there's plenty of money in my account.

Only other option I can think of apart from them cocking up is if you have recently changed any payment options and now have bank account as 'primary' payment method and debit card as secondary?

I have a debit card registered with them and I've done almost 100 money transfers before and never come across this :shrug:

Is it close to expiry?

They have been known to ignore a card with an approaching expiry date.

The other options are you have no money in the account linked to the card, or they have cocked up (not unknown)

You need to have a credit/debit card registered with Paypal to do an instant transfer.

If you just have a bank account registered they withdraw money from your bank which has to 'clear'
