Only just seen this thread. Some bloody brilliant shots of these lovely old cars, thanks to all who posted

BEAUTIFUL Collection of historical photos! Thanks for sharing!

Just out of interest , a lot of these Lancers are in the Philippines where the "box type" was a very popular model back in the day. My wife comes from Manila and we often go there on holiday, and I've seen Lancers literally abandoned and parked up covered in dust and unloved.
A majority had the "turbo" front spoilers because it was fitted to all GSR models, but the EX Turbo as we know it was never sold there, the best option was a 1.6 GSR which had the black dash like the European EX2000 (LT for short), LT rear spoilers and in some cases side skirts.
During my time there I've not seen any LT wheels, only aftermarket or spoked alloys, all 14 inch.

The shells tend not to suffer from rust due to the climate, but I did find a yellow one near to our house which had the signs of rust repairs all over the usual LT palces, it might have been a one off, as the one's I've seen tend to be rust free. There's a red one parked literally 20 yards from our house which I've scrutinised, but every time the owner comes out asking me if I want to buy it (for a vastly inflated price).

I'm now getting to the stage where I might consider filling part load of a container with some body panels, all rust free, along with some spoilers and bootlids, plus perhaps some complete floorpans/ quarter panels / roof panels, and possibly even a shell.

I've not checked underneath the Lancers I've seen there to see if stuff like trailing arms and axles are compatible, same goes for gearboxes and front suspension etc. I'll need to sweet talk the parts girl in the local Mitsubishi dealership to try and find out part numbers.

Window strips on the doors and screen surrounds (outer) are usually metal or chrome trim, not black and the same goes for grilles, most have spotlights cut into them.
Interiors vary in colour combo's, I've seen JDM LT seats (black with red fleck / stitching) but seats can always be retrimmed.

As LT parts and panels become increasingly rare in the UK and europe, I'd be interested to hear anyone's thoughts on my idea.

Cheers
Pete

You need to speak to Cheama pal as he's been planning this for a few years now. I put him in touch with you :)
