Not long put eagle f1 asm3,s alround on my evo , they preformed great on the road but after an evening session on donington both front and rear look abit worse for wear! I was running 31/30psi when hot only doing 5/6 lap outings side walls all damaged on fronts and on the rears the tread looks like its melted over! Dissapointing to day the least

After a tyre that can take abit more abuse id love to go to slicks but this car is my daily to , not arsed about loud road noise ect. Most import is road legal and can take some stick

Right well done a track evening again yesterday on the goodyear eagle f1 absolute waste of time! Understeering everywhere even had my first spin off felt like i was driving in snow!
Looking to get michelin sport cup 2's is there anywhere doing deals on them? Ive only had the goodyears on 2 months killing me to have to spend more on tyres all ready , best ive found is ÂŁ710 for 4 unfitted
Got vids off spin off ect. On youtube channel EvoX pee

Im between the ad08r and pilot sport cup 2 , has anyone run both of these? Wondering if the cup sports are worth the extra 30/40 a corner
Whatever i go for will be mainly for track so not bothered how they perform on road aslong as there road legal , goodyears will get chucked back on for the winter when it becomes my full daily again

I used Goodyear's as winters on my 8, and even as a winter tyre, the Goodyear's still aren't great.

I can't comment on the Cup Sports, as I've never used them, but I suspect they'll perform similar to the Goodyear's.

If you're using your Evo all year round, you really require a summer tyre (AD08r) for the warmer months and "true" winter tyre for colder months. Yes it's expensive, but it's the best route for these cars.

Mate, why if its mainly for track as you say above are you running road tyres?......something like r888,dunlop dz03,r88r would do you surely?.

ÂŁ710 for a set of cup 2's!!..which give zero grip comapred to the above at similar prices.

The ad08r are "ok"....for a road tyre on track, but you will never go back to any road tyre once you have tried a good semi slick (road legal) or competition tyre

To add...or even get a cheap set of spare rims and run better tyres....even something like a rally slick..(pirelli rs7,kumho c03)....10 times the grip of road tyres for half the cost,2nd hand.

It was never intended to be just for track use this cars been my daily work commuter ect since ive owned it , its only in the past 2 months ive decided to get a bike to daily which leaves me with the evo for track and weekend driving

I may look into slicks and second set of alloys , have you had the cup sport 2 yourself? Your saying theyve got no grip some people are saying there what i need

I'm no real help to your question, but I'm having a huge tyre dilemma too, I've seen before that someone tore some F1's to shreds on the track and the F1 brigade wasn't having any of it. I'm certainly put off those now it's happened to you....
This may help and due to your thread it's made my mind up. One of our customers has an Evo 9 fq320 and it's mainly used on the roads, but now and then he goes on Oulton Park. He is on Yoko AD08r's and they're great on the road and they last on the track.
My next dilemma is do I go for 225's or 235's on the standard E6 rims. But I'll start my own thread for that bit. :smthumbup

Yeah there no good , only done 2 evening sessions i only do 5 lap outings as it is and even on the first session by the 4th lap they struggled , from the off this time they struggled just couldnt hold a corner and i was going as easy as i could on steering input
They were fine on the road but once hot they literally start melting
I cant even drive round an island on the road now without the fronts screaming and understeering under abit of boost

Few people have pointed out the ado8r's im stuck between them or getting cheap alloys and getting slicks

From memory that's similar or the same as what the other lad said. The F1's got hot and clumps of rubber were literally falling off them. I bet if you google it, it will come up under MLR threads because that's how I found it.
I think your nearly there on choice. I think Ad08r's are capable of doing the job that your asking a tyre to do. But the final decision lies with you pal :smthumbup

So much depends on your geo setup. Tried and testing over many year in Time Attack, around the 30 mark seems to work well, but if your geo is setup up for normal road use the chances are you'll need more to avoid scrubbing the front outer edges. Either that, or change your driving style.
