As in title, I am looking at buying 2 kubota mowers, a F2400 and a G1900, both have engine issues, and I am buying them blind

The F2400 has a leak from the radiator, but as I am buying blind, I am assuming there is an engine fault which caused this

The G1900 has internal engine issues, dont know anymore than that

Both are sold as non runners, from private sales

I am just hoping there maybe someone on here who knows their way around these engines, known weaknesses, and advice on fixing when I get them

cheers

Burst radiator dosnt really point to engine problems. Do the simple things first without complicating things. Kubota arent exactly the most expensive of machines. Radiator may be burst due to corrosion or flying debri.

Whats the hours on them and whats the general problem with the second one?
Lack of info usually means the seller hasn't a clue or knows fine thats its an expensive repair.

seller openly admit she hasn't got a clue, she has been told the F2400 is just a wear and tear radiator problem, I also know they can overheat and spill fluid if they dont have a 50/50 coolant mix, so am hopeful

the G1900, she has been told is more serious, and needs the head off, but in her words 'it just stopped working'

They are in Kelso, the Borders, so far too far for me just to view, so I am either buying blind, and pricing assuming both need engine internal work, or I may even go to collect them, but after driving that far, I wont be coming home empty handed  and as they dont run, I still wont really know till I have had time to do some tests

I wouldn't mind, I only needed a deck for my mower, hence how I found her, as the deck of the G1900 will fit my G1700, but I am tempted with the lot, as my G1700 is well past its best, in fact its even well past well past its best

Stu, work with Kubota's alot. As for the rad fault could be a list of things, not really pointing at a engine fault which then did the rad in.

The G1900 would need further investigation to be honest, but they are pretty simple to work on.

Any probs with parts or problems give me a shout :)
Good to know, cheers :smthumbup

I am only assuming the worst as i would rather have a pleasant surprise if I buy it, when it comes to repairing it :D

I am getting carried away now  just looking at a F2400 that has parts missing, as maybe a set of spares to go with it :D, sods law though, thats the other end of the country :wallbang:

O well, after a long days drive yesterday, it seems I might have dropped lucky, the F2400 just needed the clutch pressing to start it, it seems to run fine, no overheating, and just needed a few bits freeing off on the mower. On the point of the mower, it has an Lastec articulator, which seems like it is an expensive option :D

As for the G1900, again, with a little battery help, that started and ran too :D

I am not to sure if that is firing on all 3 cylinders though, maybe only 2, whats the easiest way to check this?

start it up and check the downpipes before they get too hot. easiest way. if its not firing on one cylinder it wont warm up.
sounds like lady luck is on your side with the other one. love it when that happens.
