Code read it and see what come up, could be just a sensor or may be the ABS unit.

 

You could have a broken ABS ring & damaged sensor. As above code read it & go from there.

 

Got exactly the same problem on my 7 be interested to hear what you find out.

 

Right so the codes I'm getting are 23 on the abs lights and 25 on the 3 ayc lights! First question is should the ayc lights be flashing? Secondly 23 is rear right, by right does this mean offside or near side?

Its probably a faulty sensor, but check the abs ring on the cv for any sign of damage, cracks etc, and also check the plug is making a good connection from that sensor

Cheers thought it would be offside, just had a look and the abs ring is split open! Are these a big job to replace?

No not at all you can replace the rings without buying new drive shaft try these guys from here

There's a good chance your sensor might be damaged so you can get one of them off Ross Sport.

 

dont think I've heard of anyone selling the rings for later cars separate, but im not sure if thats just the fronts. Rears might be the same size throughout the evos. You'll have to research that

what I do know is I used the abs ring off my evo 5 rear shaft, when I fitted an evo 9 rear rs diff and shafts, and the ring swopped over

Ya a bit of heat for sure & any rings iv seen can go on either way with two shamfers on inside to ease it up the driveshaft.

 

At the start of November I had the same problem with mine. Took it to Mitusubishi dealer to get diagnosed and they told me a fault code had come up for the o/s/r and it was either the ABS sensor or the ABS ring. Took it apart and the ring had split. I replaced the ring myself (from UK parts direct) and once built back up it still did the same. I then replaced the ABS sensor (from Ross Sport) and it still did the same as before. Another trip to Mitsubishi showed a fault code,this time for the n/s/r. Took that side apart and again the ring had split. On 15th this month I replaced that ring and the car was fine up until today when the light had come on and stayed on.There was no pulsing from the pedal after the 2 rings had been replaced. God only knows what's going on with my ABS!!!
