Is this too much of a strech?
Anyone done it, and is it a bad idea?

Danny you're on 9" wheels like Nick above :smthumbupI also have 235's on 9.5j rotas
Will probably run 255's next time round.

245s look best on these, and tend to fit without any rubbing on 789s
255s sit perfectly on 9.5" wheels, and normally need arch work unless you drive like a pansy or run monster truck suspension
You had some Rota Force Drifts custom made for you then?Nope mine are 9.5j matey :smthumbup
Unless you had them specially made. They are 9 wideNope mine are 9.5j matey :smthumbup
can never understand why folk stretch 225/235s onto 9/9.5 rims they never look right in my opinion an surly cant be good for the tyre.Danny you're on 9" wheels like Nick above :smthumbup

Correct Raph.technically a strech, but some tyres are much wider than others although the size is the same.
advan ad08s for eg.and basically any tyre in the same category ..azenis,r888 etc
Steve - could you put a link for this up as I've looked and can't locate the thread:blush::handsup:Matt - have a look on EvoM, there's an entire thread based on all this, including offset and styles![]()
Alan, I'd think your Ultralites would be 8 inch if 245s are just smidge wider than the wheel itself. You need to get them off and take a nosey at the back to see if they say the width on them to be sure though.can never understand why folk stretch 225/235s onto 9/9.5 rims they never look right in my opinion an surly cant be good for the tyre.
Si as your the wheel guru, my 18inch Ultralite atecs, are they 8 or 8.5 wide.
I run 245s on these, best size i think, just a touch bigger on the profile, car sits quite low on the Nitrons with no rubbing, and the tyre profile is spot on.
Another point also is when swapping to rally tyres or slicks they are usually narrower.
Did you have any luck finding out what you've got?Too bloody dark will check in the morning lol i know they make them from 8.5j upto a 10.5j so i might be mistaken![]()
2nd pic rocks the most, perfect fit :coolsm: Nice rubber tooCorrect Raph.
1st pic 235/40/18 ADO8 on a 9.5" rim.
2nd pics my 245/40/18 ADO8 on a 9.5" rim.
Start a thread mate.Cheers for the heads up Steve, i must have missed that though... I posted a thread on here about tyre width before ordering, but the thread got no replies.....
Still, a sticky with actual width v's claimed width would be handy for the tyres/wheel section, sure it wouldn't be hard if we all chipped in![]()
Looking very nice Dave!! Have you got your wheels and brakes fitted yet or is that a photo of 18's one side and 17's the other...?Correct Raph.

What ones did you go for? AD08s are a wide tyre so prob equivalent of 245sI just recieved my new rota 18x9.5 wheels with ad08 tyres in 235/40 and it's just. Tiny stretch so I'm happy with that![]()

Sounds a good price, and let's hope they are good, as I'd consider a set of them when next I need some :smthumbupJust bought some 255/35/18 Federal 595 RS-R after reading some positive reviews. Apparently similar to R888's, but we'll see
Got them for £470 delivered from mytyres. About £150-£200 cheaper than anywhere else I could find.
Hope they're not sh*te
