According to an older thread

Evo 1 to 3
PCD = 4x114.3mm
Offset = +46mm
Centre Bore = 67.1mm

so your ET35 is 11m different on the offset. I found this offset calculator thingy which will tell you have far in / out new wheels will be compared to the old, as long as you know what the offset and width of both are (assuming the 2 came with 16x6 ET46 as standard, it reckons the 17x7 ET35 will extend 2mm further inside, and 24mm further outside).

Edit: changing the offset like that will also affect the steering response, as the original offset is chosen so that the centre of the tread is the point that the wheel pivots on. Changing the offset will also move where the wheel pivots, in this case it has moved closer to the inside shoulder. I'm not sure how much this will affect handling, but it will certainly change the steering characteristics slightly.

If you're putting 17's on your Evo II, you'll need 205/40R17 size tires.... and the max offset you can have for the wheel is +40mm.....
