Hi there

As the title says, just something i was wondering, as the evo's are such a great range of cars all models included (1-8),

Just i know a guy with a mint 93 escort cosworth and it would be probably worth more than most models in the evo range, Yes/No?

Is it because mitsubishi release so many models??

Maybe worth more but brake more as well, i have just bought an Escort Cosworth and snapped a cam and snapped the crank pulley as if held on with blue tac, full rebuild required, so you probably even things out with the cost of maintaining the thing :(

some people think that the TME's will hold their value well, i cannot say i think the same, they will always cost a bit more than the rest but i think the prices of them will drop eventually too, as they have been...

only time will tell i guess

EVO's obviously don't hold their value like the Escort cossie.

EVO prices used to hold well, but have all taken a battering over the last year - I remember looking for a V this time last year and the cheapest one around was about £13k, and VI's were about £15k - it seems everything has dropped by at least £2k in the last year.

The prices are now all over the place -

IV's between £6k - £10k
V's between £9k - £13k
VI's between £10.5k - £16k
TME between £14k - £20k
VII's between £13k - £20k
VIII's between £16 - £28k

The cheaper cars are generally not in good condition, but there are some which are - especially when the seller is desperate to get rid.

Best buy IMO is a VII for less than £14k - there's a nice black one in the for sale section now - it will go for £13.5k which is a bargain and could have been mine if that pesky Focus RS didn't pop up at the last moment. (I pick it up in an hour) :D

to many imports of evos were are you going to flood the market with cossie escorts?never thought much of them myself even the early stuff, evos have more power as a standard car with a better 4wd system but ford bitz you can get anywere which is why they were popular!
Christ you can walk into your local garage and buy a group a head gasket!

I bought a escort cosworth 18 months ago, the guy had it advertised for £12995 for it, i paid him £9000 for it, that was an N plate, i kept it siix months and sold it for 10250, it was an outdated heap of crap, its looked good, but that was it, some people dream about the value of there cars, its only when they come to sell them that they find reality..........

Some good points there,

While its well known that the Evo is regarded as a better car,

Is there not only 100 FQ400's a "limited" number

My point is - As soon as you have purchased a new(er) evo whatever the model 1-8 the next time you open a car mag you see that mitsubishi are due to release another model, the only downside of the range is that you are always having to update especially as the value of your current car falls and falls.

I think every 2 years would be enough to change the model??

IMO
