Hi,
Does anybody know what are the widest tires (Federal 595 rs-r) I can run on an EVO 5 without modifying the fenders in any way.
I was thinking about using 255/40/17, I have tein lowered suspension, my camber is -2 degrees front, -1 degree rear and I am running some rims that I had on the car (I can change them if these won;t fit), the front ones are 17x8.5 et35, the rear ones are 17x9.5 et 37.
Can I run 255/45/17 on this car?
Thanks.

Pretty sure 255 will be too wide. With the right offset rims I think you might just about get away with 245s, although some tyres come up bigger than others even if say they are the same size! Are you running the same size tyres on different width rims?

My 5's running et35 18x8.75 and 245/35/18 Michelin pilot super sports, the rear is fine but the fronts just catch the arch liner on full lock, its lowered 40-50mm :)

You can run the following rims with 255/40x17.
Bare in mind, widest 255/40x17 is in my experience R888, and it sucks...its too loud, not that nice.
Get something better.

You can run 17x9.5 ET38 NT03+M, no spacers no nothing, just bolt in
And you can run any 17x9 ET35 wheel.
Anything less than 35 offset in 9", or 8.5" and you cannot fit 255.

For example 245/40x17 will fit fine on 17x9 or 17x8.5 ET30...see the thing..5mm difference in offset and it changes tire by 10mm that can fit, because 1/2 fits inside and other 1/2 fits outside the rim/wheel well...

They fit no problem, I've run them for years.
Rear is the issue, and you cannot fit wider, because you are balancing the pinch weld by the door and the rear control arm...

So please don't look for more then 38mm offset either..its close to the rear control arm.
