What would people think is the next most important gauge if I was already monitoring:-
Boost
Inlet air temps (post intercooler)
Exhaust gas temps
???

I was thinking Oil pressure. Any opinions?

I would say Oil pressure or Temperature.

I'm getting the 3 gauge HKS din plate for under the stereo from Justin and I've got Boost, Oil Temp and Oil pressure to put in it, I'd forgotten EGT :-/

Cheers,

Phil

Depends on how modified yr car is , if nr enuf standard then I wud go 4 an oil temp gauge , not because of max oil temp but because it allows u 2 ensure the oil is fully up2 temp b4 u thrash it :) If u've increased boost then an EGT gauge wud b the choice , but then again u cud install an air/fuel ratio meter which r quite cheap , logic is that if yr AF ratio is correct then yt egt almost certainly is 2 , then u cud fit the oil temp gauge 2 because u don't need the egt :)

I got oil pressure, oil temp and EGT (sensor probe at downpipe shortly after turbine). Amazing security blanket, to ensure that things aren't about to go pop after prolonged hard running! During recent lengthy blast, had oil temp up to 120 degrees (normally runs about a hundred or below) and EGT temp at 700 degrees.

I've been told these are still w/in safe limits. Someone please tell me that info is correct? :)

Hesperus,

Those temps r fine , worry point 4 EGT is about 800 C , oil temp up2 140 C if synthetic.
