Hi peepz, is it essential and best for the engine on a VIII MR, to tank it up with optimax rather than your normal unleaded. The prices are steep, just wanted to know if its worth it. Basically getting this MR has been quite a story, but deciding to get it in the end.

Optimax
BP ultimate
super unleaded (Esso's is supposed to good one, based on heresay!!)

As was said don't get supermarket super unleaded, branded unleaded will contain around 14 additives to improve the fuels performance, supermarket ones, at best, will only have 3 or 4. Unless its changed recently!

Is that something to do with the calorific value? i remeber another thread where sumink was mentioned about esso super? gives more bhp?

Yeah it is.... but it's a real pain trying to find an Esso station near to where I live so I mainly live off BP Ultimate with the odd tank of Optimax for it's cleaning abilities.

The cheapest super unleaded local to me is Optimax at 83.9, [email protected] ish and BP at 91 ish!! Crazy!!
