Hi all

as my S01 are getting balder and balder I'm soon forced to buy a new set of tyres. On my previous car I always drove with the S02 PP. But now the latest generation S03 is available. Has anyone already made some experience?
BTW which Yoko tyre is on the EVO VII? Is that a valuable alternative?

Any info appreciated

Cheers

Mike

PS: I'll be on the Ring in July so confidence inspiring grip would be very welcome

As nobody seems to have experience with the S03 I bit the bullet and just ordered a set which arrived today.
I'll let you know how I go on.

Hi,

I've run SO-3s for a week now and they are a huge improvement over the original SO-1s that were fitted to the car. They seem to have made the car feel as if it has a slightly more rear bias on the set-up. Feel more progressive, given me a bit more confidence. I haven't had chance to try them in the rain yet as I am keen to see if they are any better, I had no confidence in the SO-1s. It's all fairly subjective as I'm comparing nice new tyres against a set of well worn old ones, but I'd give them a thumbs up.

Kevin.

Hi Kevin

looks like good news. I'm pretty sure the tyres will be good as I used to have the S02 on my previous Scoob and was always happy with them. They problably won't produce a worse tyre!

Thanks for your input

Cheers

Monegasque or Monacan are the words you are looking for. However, although I've always lived here, I am German because my parents are from Germany...

The Speedline 2120 cost me
16,000 FRF
|EQU| 3,700 CHF
|EQU| 1,450 GBP
|EQU| 2,440 EUR

that is of course WITHOUT tires (do you spell that with a Y?)

Now MAXI what do you think, who is keeping standard parts on his car?

Claudius do you have any pictures of the wheels, I phoned a couple of suppliers here and they tell me the wheel is not in production yet and that it won't be here for a month or so.

Claudius,what are you talking about?

The speedlines are light wheels and they look nice in 18 inches, anyway better than white wheels on a silver car,but compared to the price they cost they are almost useless for you as you have a completely standard engine!

The parts you want to order are ok as the hks hyper muffler and the cusco carbon strut braces, but that kind of parts are just a little upgrade and I consider that an evo with exhaust and filter is standard.
A prepared evo starts with pistons, conrods, big brakes and ecu.
I could understand that you don't fit them if you didn't want to spend money on a car because it's too expensive or because you like your evo as standard, but you spend more than
20000£ to buy a new evo vi that you already had saying that it was to inprove everything on it,so the problem is not the price, and you are always saying that you have your car to push it over the limit and that the evo is not fast enough at all for you!

So if you keep the new one standard why did you change it?

Now you even want to keep the standard brakes!!!
I know,I Know, You will get grooved/drilled discs with separate alloy bell, but I am talking about serious stuff like 362 6 pot ap racing.

Well if you think that you can't keep 500bhp under control maybe you are right the standard evo is ok to go from your place to the restauranthttp://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/biggrin1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >[img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/biggrin1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >[img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/biggrin1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >!

I found a new stroker 2.2kit at a better price than the JUN kit,but I know, you are not interested in performance parts[img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/biggrin1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >[img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/biggrin1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >[img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/biggrin1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >!

MAXI

you are right, my car is still standard, that's why I need less unsprung weight! Hence magnesium wheels. Maybe they will compensate for my 25 kg, GBP 2,500 worth of stereo! http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/tongue1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >

You are right, an Evo with ECU filter and exhaust should be considered as standard. I am not going to uprate the engine internals because they don't give me more power. I wont put my engine into pices to fit a shaved crankshaft to get a 2,2l engine, not worth the trouble. What I will get, however, is a remapped Motec to get the very best / rest out of the engine, automatic waterspray and anti lag. Now if that engine blows, I will uprate all the internals and get a TD06 or T67 if anybody can confirm that if mapped correctly this will be drivable and not have too much lag. I already enquired about titanium conrods in Austria but havent got an answer yet.

EVO MAD

You are right, the 2120 magnesium wheels are made to order, you have to shout and beg and threaten etc. to get them to make them for you. There is a 6 week delivery time. They normally only make 12 at a time, maybe someone oredered some or the official French importer here put some pressure on them, who knows? Anyway, I have confirmation of the delivery time and the price. I'll try and find a picture for you and post it here.

I guess you contacted Pankl for the Titanium conrods, didn't you? Maybe Carillo is also an option, don't know if they do anything for the EVO.

Chunky,

LOLhttp://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/happy1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >,you are totally right!!!
You can see that at the firsts post on the suspensions thread, there are almost 20 on me against Claudius(because of his safari rally suspension height[img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/biggrin1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >)!

Andre,

I don't know why if you're not member you can't go on the video section,I will try to change the settings but anyway for the moment there is only one short video,I will post others soon and I'll let you know!

Claudius([img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/biggrin1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >[img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/biggrin1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >[img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/biggrin1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >),
do you hear yourself when you are talking???

Until now I will stop to talk directely to you but I will write down your stories and reasonments for the MLR members, but the best thing to do would be to post two different videos. One of yourself when you're talking about the evo modifications, that you could overtake tommi if you had 500bhp evo...that the standard brakes sucks...that the F50 is for girls...bigger turbo...the standard evo understeers and doesn't accelerate fast and then another one filmed a week after when you are saying Finally the ayc makes a big improve, the standard brakes are ok...the ralliart ecu is cheaper...if I uprgrade the evo the fuel consuption would get worst(noooo,really???)..it could be too much for every day use(and then you can see Claudius using a bmw 328 to go to the restaurant, when he has got 2 evo vi's parked at home[img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/embarassed1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >)...Should I remove the restrictor, etc, etc.

You can see Carillo conrods on the power engineering web site, dont know if they're as good. Yes it was Pankl at www.pankl.com

MAXI, please, shut up!

Scoobymike,

If you are looking for serious internals check out Tomai. Their stuff "looks" superb. They do a 2.2L crank, rod, piston set that is not a cut down. It looks to be a custom made replacement crank. Have a look.

Tomai

I had to poke around their site to find the parts (Japanese only).
