Pity you hadn't got banged up, I remember your original post on this knobjocky
Ah yes the drink driver.

People who drink and drive are the scum of the road even before people without insurance. Are you aware that the insurance companies dont pay out when they discover you were plastered?
I've got to say i think a lot of people have been very harsh on this fella as it was never once proven that he was over the limit. He got flashed and failed to stop, that was his mistake and the only one we can comment on i feel.

In his original story i believe he had a pint, followed by a Coke and then some time later a bottle of Miller - now i'm not an expert, but i know that some people could have those drinks and be more than capable to drive and considerably under the legal limit if breathalised. I know a guy who had 3 pints over the course of a few hours, got in the car (stupid c*nt), got stopped just round the corner from the pub and passed the breath test - it can depend on any number of mitigating factors ie food intake, length of time since last drink, metabolic rates etc etc. Therefore i think to label this guy as the scum of the earth is completely over the top, admittedly what he did was stupid but it's not like he went out and got hammered, drove over the police on the way home, woke up the next day and couldn't remember anything about it but thankfully his chav mates had filmed it and put it on youtube.

I'm as anti drink driving as anyone, but i think people on here have been overly harsh on this guy. Just my 2 pence worth :)

They don't pay out if you have too many people in the car either.

(irrelevent to this topic i know but I haven't always known that and have driven with too many people in the car a few times in the past)
Foolish!

Well i hope there's been a lesson learned  Can't understand why you would broadcast your foolishness on the forum  Just aswell nobody got hurt eh

Your Insurers can only refuse to pay out if your state or inebriation/number of people in the car/whatever is a direct cause of the accident. If you're over the limit or overloaded and some numb-nuts drives into the back of you at red traffic lights, your claim will still be honoured. If you hit someone else because you were bladdered or your car was overloaded (affecting it's braking capabilities) then your Insurers can refuse the claim.
time for a law change me thinks

imo you shouldn't even be able to have the slightest sniff of alchohol then drive

I couldn't agree more, i've said so for years. Any drinker knows too that there's nothing nicer after a pint than another, so why put that temptation there. A zero tolerance policy would IMO be much more successful than the current attitude - also it would alleviate the problems of some people being over when others aren't, being unsure how much you can have etc etc.

I agree aswell. NO ALCOHOL whatsoever, whats the point in 1 pint??
BUT from this thread and others -
What I find hard to believe is all the law abiding people on here who drive an Evo and never got caught speeding, or had a bit of trouble or telling off from cops or a summons to court without the reaction of "knobjockey", "serves ya right" "ya chav" "hope they tear up your licence".

Some people are whiter than white if you listened to them or believed them. Funny to hear an Evo owner making the above comments as they are obviously complete hypocrits.
If thats the case I reckon some people should sell their Evos because they are obviously wasted in their posession. Cobwebs after 65mph and 4500rpm on clocks and 5th gear is seized from lack of use. Come on people for FFS.

By the way I dont condone dangerous/careless/drink driving but at some stage we all make a mistake or get caught out. None of as are angels, if we were we would all have bought a Toyota Prius.
every body drives faster than the speed limit. If you tell me you havent i wont belive you. Just because you havent been caught doesnt mean you are any better than anyone else. Also why did he have to stop, you dont have to stop when you go through a speed camera do you so why for a van. No blue lights=Dont have to stop.

And where does it say about drinking in the old thread?????
I must have missed that bit, but someone said he only had a pint so whats the problem.

YOU PEOPLE ARE SAD!

Maybe we should give him a  Welcome to the MLR, & thanks for using all 24 post to tell us how you drink & drive, regardless if you were under the limit or not.
Anyone who says they have never driven there car home after one drink is fibbing so who are we to critisise.
My you have a tolerant view on the matter, but If I'm driving, I never drink, period.

I havent and thats 100% honest. If I did Id say so. When I go boozing which is a rare occasion, Evo stays @ home.

I have no sympathy for drink drivers @ all. Friend of my Mrs and I was very very badly injured as a result of drink driving and she was in the offending car!! She had her degree in college and a job got. Badly brain damaged and physically restricted. We were with her earlier that nite and she was perfect but hasnt been same since and never will be. Shes still only 28.

As I said earlier dont give me this BS that you drive an Evo and dont speed, push a bit more than limit allows or overtake where any run of mill car couldnt.

No he doesn't need a hug, yet again an overly sarcastic response.

But you make out that this guy is possibly the worst type of human being ever to set foot on the planet, he may have broke the speed limit a little and nothing more than that - so settle down with the giving him abuse for something you don't even know he did ie drove while over the limit.
