i've bought a standard replacement turbo for my IV. picking it up after work and after some pointers what to look for for obvious damage etc.
I've never seen one in flesh so any pics or model numbers would also be useful.
Its off a 97 evo IV, turbo only done 10,000 miles.

Theres no real way of making sure the turbo is ok just by looking at it im afraid

~Only real way to make sure is by sending it away to be checked over and serviced.Believe me i know,a turbo can look mint and spin freely only for it to Sh*t itself the first time it comes on boost

I think Dave G(evo400) might be able to get it serviced or checked over for you?

edited to say,the IV turbos suffer really bad with rattling from the penny washers/wastegate flap when they get to a certain age/mileage.Your better off going for a 6 onwards turbo.
