when the steering is on full right lock and i straighten up i get a loud bang from the lh side strut and when i watch it the top mount moves violently, its ok most of the way round, it happens when the wheels are nearly straight, any ideas what could be causing this?

hi mate. i reckon that your top mount bearings hav collapsed. these are pretty easily replaced and shouldnt be overly expensive either. check mitsubishi for a new set or go for cusco pillowball top mounts if u want good setup.

I have a simillar problem. Had top mounts done cos they were knocking but now it seems to grab when coming off right lock. Had the car checked looks like its the struts. Ordered some new from mitsubishi. Getting fitted next week. Will let you know how i get on.

replace the pair.

Ralliart jobbies are about £110 + VAT+p&p (Dave @ Ears has some)

pillow mounts are more but should never need replacing

quick update had my struts repalaced today. Car now ok. No more knocking or grabbing from front at all. Did you get yours sorted?
