Does anyone know of a titanium welding service? Particularly in the Yorkshire area? Willing to travel if none around here. I may need my titanium exhaust quietening.

Are you using a silencer box where the cat is normally fitted. If not perhaps fit a custom Jetex silencer in this position?

contact a local sheet metal engineering company, if they don't do it, they'll know who can.

there is a guy in swindon, old boy who can weld so well its pure sex! he never advertises and is never not busy. i only know about him coz of my mate who works in a sheet metal fabrication shop.

I am told the backbox is rattling inside. This happened to my Blitz Nurspec too. It just needed cutting open, wrapping up inside and welding again. It seems this titanium exhaust may need the same.

Ok mate cheers. Been looking on the net but I'm told titanium welders are quite rare.

I think to weld Ti properly is quite specialist and requires use of an Argon bubble or other similar shielding to stop it reacting to atmosphere gases, which is not something a lot of people will have, guess it depends on the grade though and stuff used on exhausts maybe wont be as pure or need as good a welding as the fuel ducting in the Airbus A380 we used to make ;)

Cheers

Is Lancashire too far?

This lot might be able to help, they do TI welding and mention services to motorsport on their site.

One of the piccies looks like a skid plated exhaust system.

Yes I was told the same thing, but a mate said the exhaust wont be over 80% pure titanium so it doesn't need welding in a bubble. God knows.

Try this guy Kenny he has done some fabrication work for before and is very good i know its a bit far away but worth a try
