Hi Lads.
Ever get the fellin that your not meant to have a certain car?, well I do right now!!.
After all my gearbox trouble I located one in Glasgow from a crashed car and i am just waiting for the insurance people to clear it for breaking. So i WAS! pretty happy up until this morning when i walked out the door for work and found the car up on blocks with wheels gone!! (17 OZ superT's with brand new Avon 205/40 rubber), also a load of tools missing from garage.
All my tools where Snap-On along with 2 Bosch grinders and 1 drill. Also a 2 1/2 ton trolley jack. So far i've worked out the value of what was taken to be £4500!! and i'm not sure if house insurance will cover it yet.
As for the question of locknuts on the wheels, Well the special socket was sitting on top of my toolbox in the garage!!!. Oh yeah they also tried to take the GSR badge off the back but it broke, This leads me to think the whhels where stolen for a Lancer or Colt or some other Mitsubishi but the PCD is unique to the 4wd Lancers and Galants and won't fit any 2wd Mitsubishis.
Anyway to say i'm ****** OFF is an understatement!!.
Regards,
Paul.C

Anybody wanna borrow a 12 bore? One owner, never used in anger (yet)! It will hit a car thief from 50 yards without aiming (so I'm told)!

if only it was legal for us to protect our own stuff instead of the us being done by the police for trying to protect it.

What the world coming to.

Revenge is sweet.
Good thing is to get involved with the local youth who admire your car.Despite there demure
they are the most informative of sorts .
If any thing goes on locally £50 talks .
This doesn't say that if your car is trashed/nicked,but at least you will know who ,when and how you can give a hiding to,if in the event of local perpatrators.
Ts/
I have an iron bar beside the passager seat of my motor just incase of road rage, and my van come to that.
If somefuk wanted to steal my car, they had better take it ,detroy it..
As far as I am concerned some one parks too close and I become enraged.
Any one who steals ,trashes ,scrapes paint work ,abuses others property has no sympathy.
Its best if your Evo dissapears, rather than get it back trashed .
No car is safe from statistical values.
If some fuk wants it then its gone.
I once had a credit company aproach me who would beat the **** out of debtors if they didnt
pay up,beyond the law.
Perhaps some times this is the way to go,

Look out for any smug Rover or Honda drivers too Paul, they share the same 114.3 pcd.

This all just plain sucks. I take it the car wasn't insured?

Hi,
After speaking to a number of Irish Evo and Scooby owners it appears that there is gangs going around stealing these cars for export!!. It seems that my car was going to be stolen only for the fact that it had no Gearbox it would be gone!. So they decided to help themselves to the wheels and tools for their troublehttp://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/sad1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >.
There has been a spate of scary stories popping up the the papers here lately about these cars, from drivers being followed to armed hijacking and one big story of a guy selling a WRX who ended up hanging on to the rear wing while the thief drove for 3 miles at speeds over 80mph!!. The owner said that he just grabbed the back of the car when he seen it drive off but it was up to speed so fast that he couldn't let go!!!. Turned out the thief stopped the car and ran off. Now there's a man who deserves a medal!!.
So i'm thinking now that i'll have to give up the car i love because some BA$TARDS are willing to kill you for it!!!.
Regards,
Paul.C

you could always try a tracker and if it's stolen it may lead to where the cars are held before shipment or deture them from nicking it.

As a specialist line of cars ,It has been suggested that a car club should have a secure list of chasis numbers and engine numbers ,so if parts of the motor find there way around .
Those of us who would like a history ,could look it up.
many were against divulging details ,which I felt was a little protective ,and would suggest that if there motors are stolen they are the 1st to ask for help.
At the end of the day eventually I will upgrade my car ,and it would be very likely that I would buy one from some one selling from this forum.KNOWING THE HISTORY !!!.
Any way this apart,I personally feel that some of these cars that are nicked may actually being broken down for spares.A big market for guys who want to rally a little cheaper.
How much is a new engine? .HH6 knows !!.
A spares market is alot of money for a thief/fence ,its a lot easier to shift parts than a full blown car being put back on the road,a lot less hassle.Who 's going to check an engine number or chassis number ,when the car is in bits and not used on the highways.

cheers
