Lee , the Apexi boost contoller is the AVCR not AFC.
The basic Blitz is the DSBC; the advanced Blitz is the SBC-iD.
The Blitz SBC-iD works in a similar way to the AVCR in that
you set a required boost level which can be adjusted throughout
the rev range. With Blitz DSBC you set a solenoid duty cycle %
and raising or lowering this increases boost, but you cannot
adjust this at different levels of engine speeds.
Basically, this means the SBC-iD and AVCR give you slightly more
accurate boost control across the rev range, meaning you
can get a little more boost lower down the rev range.
Personally, I still prefer the Blitz DSBC due to its simplicity and
the ability to switch between 4 boost programmes whilst on the move
by twisting 1 knob. You cant do that with the AVCR.
I do have the AVCR in my supra, and I can understand why it appeals to
gadget freaks, it is a rather nice toy
The Blitz SBC-iD is even more advanced than the AVCR!
it even communicates with the power meter ID by infra red to
give speed related boost control !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But retail on the Biltz SBC-iD and power meter id is over £700|PLS|v 8-(
