Hi,
I've owned my evo1 GSR since last October with no partciularly big gremlins
being present (replaced leaking water pump straight away).
Now this has suddenly happened - if I drive GENTLY (as if) i.e. press the
accelerator down no more than an inch, it drives fairly normally. Any more than that, then it's as if someone turns the engine off at around 4000 rpm then turns
it back on again when the revs have died down to about 2500 rpm. This will repeat
as long as you hold the accelerator down. Makes for some interesting kangeroo progress.
I just wondered if anyone had experienced anything like this, or has any ideas.
I have checked the output from the diagnostic socket with info I got from www.dsm.org, and it reports no errors.

cheers!

Hi,

I had an almost similar problem on my Evo 6. For more info about it, read the message named electronics . As for you, a complete loss of power at 4000 (due to an opened wastegate), but the revs did not drop to 2500, it just kept revving, but very slowly

Cheers

Hi mark

I had a similar problem on my new VI, it was fixed by Ralliart Dudley and
turned out to be one of the ignition coils (Evo VI has 2 ?) breaking down .
