I dont think this is a problem, as I have to semi engage the gear for it to make this noise!

One morning going into work, I put the car into reverse! (sometimes I have problems getting into reverse!) I dont think it was fully engaged into the reverse gear, and as I slowly lifted off the clutch, I heard a clunk from the left wheel, then the right, then the back. The sound sorta come from all around the car, in a circular motion! Whats this? Sounded quite nasty, I would have expected to hear a grinding gear noise, not a transmission clunk clunk..

Any suggestions, it on;ly does it, when not in gear properly?

Hi,

That happened to me lately and it was only the brake pads sticking to the discs in the recent cold weather. After the initial clunking which was the pads breaking free from the discs all was ok;)
