Storing tyres

507 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  H18BY0
I have a set of tyres in storage (the shed), they are all Goodyear make and loads of tread left :) 3 of them are still attached to the wheels, and when the forth wheel is repaired they will all be on the rims

How do I store them correctly so no problems with the rubber perishing etc

I have a set of MLR wheel bags but they are not in them yet

I don't want to get them out one day and find they are knackered, when they are still a excellent set of tyres

in the dark and dry mate,i believe its the sunlight that [email protected]@ks rubber,
I think one of the racers was saying to get a palet and put them laying down,as long as you don't forget to use them eventually it should be fine, but I wouldn't advise storing lots of them on a single pile as the bottom ones will get ****ed
Reduce pressure to about 5-10 psi, cover them to prevent exposure to sunlight, out of the damp, and protect from sources of heat.
