Hi guy's.

I'm new to the forum. Currently on the hunt for a nice, standard Evo VI.

I'm not fussed on colour, not bothered about mileage. As long as it's mechanically sound and not a rust bucket underneath I'll be happy.

My budget at the moment is 8k...I know it's not the largest budget but I'm hoping something may come up!

Thanks.

Good luck with the search - you may struggle to find one 100% standard now to be honest

You are looking at 10K for a fresh import at the moment that is more likely to fit your criteria for 99% rust free and fairly standard.

I paid 8.5K in 2014 and prices have risen.

Mine for instance (not for sale) is 'fairly standard' with tasteful and useful mods on standard power and looks externally OEM but I wouldn't sell it for under 11K in it's current condition :coolsm:

Not saying you won't get a decent VI for 8K but I'd look for rust free first and then worry about the mods. You can always sell them off and revert it back cheaper than buying upgrades.

Read the buyers/owners guide download on the homepage. ;)

This one worth looking at for 8.5K but needs a little bit of a tidy on a few minor bits:

Cheers for the advice.

I know I may be asking a bit much with a budget of only 8K but you never know... Something may come along.

I've had a look at the car for sale that you mentioned. It actually looks like a really good buy and should be quite nice and clean underneath from what the advert says.

I've emailed the seller, just waiting for a reply

I've also spotted this one for sale on Pistonheads.com too. Not sure on the decals though...

Can't say much more than VI_SHOOTER really good advice there.

The MOT history on the Pistonheads 1 makes for interesting reading though. Some different fails and advisories throughout the years!

You would have to view it to be honest. You can remove decals easy enough and then get a detail done. Nice Enkei Tarmac WRC Evo wheels on that. Not exactly standard though is it?

This one is well under your budget and may be a risk for you but still:

Depends on how much work you are willing to put into the car and may need an engine?

Hmm, yes I did have a look at the blue VI that you've mentioned. Im not sure I'd want to take something on with that amount of potential engine work...

As for the white one for sale on Pistonheads, maybe a bit more research is required on that one as mentioned above.

I'll keep searching until I find the right one. I'm in no rush at all.

Thanks again for the help and advice.
