·Had my 9,000 miler yesterday at Station Garage (in the fine city of Aberdeen) - bill is :
Labour £100.00 (standard Mitsu ?)
Oil ATF £5.80 (dunno what that is http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/embarassed1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >)
Synthetic Oil £40.00 (type unspecified)
Gasket Drain £0.43
Oil Filter £6.82
AYC Oil £14.54
Service Kit £3.90
Screenwash £1.76 (amazing how you can make a single fill last 4,500 miles [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/wink1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >)
Brake de Dust £2.79 (sounds like a Dutch footballer [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/happy1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >)
VAT £30.81
Total £206.85 [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/sad1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >
How does this compare with other parts of the country ?
Also, here are a few impressions of Station garage :
BAD
1) Courtesy car had barely a drop of petrol in it
2) The place is a bugger to get to (although I didn't investigate a Torphins drop off)
3) They don't appear to be able to accomodate early / late drop off / pick up
4) Having asked them to sort my water ingress problem, I reckon they just tinkered with it (ok, they didn't charge but its gonna mean that I have to make another hellish journey there in the near future)
5) Having asked them to sort my water ingress problem, and them apparently tinkering, they didn't see fit to mop up the puddle on the back floor
6) They apparently don't take AMEX yet they have a sign on the door that says they do
GOOD
1) Lady at service reception seems reasonably clued-up and eager to please
2) Feedback from mechanic (via lady at service reception) good (e.g. strange report code from AYC might mean I had a blow-out - and sure enough, I did a wee while ago)
3) They washed the car without asking (aye, and it was filthy [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/laugh1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >)
4) Test drive only put six miles on the car (as opposed to Andersons who seemed to need a 40|PLS| mile test drive ! [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/biggrin1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle > )
5) Proper check-list ticked and signed stapled to the receipt
6) No sign of the arrogance we used to know and hate at Andersons
