I've had my tme advertised for ages now but havnt had any genuine offers or interest for that matter!
What do people want - nice cars for pennies?
I know the markets abit slow at the moment but i thought nice tme's would be snapped up quite quick i've even said i'll take a p/x ffs :(
I've had a genuine offer from someone but it's less than what i wanted so i dont know whether to hold on to it now for another year or so or just sell it for what i've been offered.
Anyone else had any probs selling their evo's?

I know a few people looking for an Evo at the moment and they're all looking to pay low prices because they've seen a few rough Evo's for sale at silly money in Autotrader or other web sites. They just can't bring themselves to pay much more, even for a really good car. Just because they've got these low figures in their heads.

Had the exact same problem with selling the car. Been in the Autotrader and did'nt get one phone call  Or even wasters coming to view. Had a of silly offer of £12000!! fs
Reduced the price but you can only drop it so much. Think a lot of it is what Dave G said a lot of crap cars puting the prices down.

cars

I Agree what you are all saying , Im looking for a Car at the low end , However You Feel A bit downhearted when you ask Questions Ie Crash Damaged etc
They Usually say No , you pay for a Car check and then all of a sudden the truth comes out, Therefore when you see a cheap car advertised you dont think BARGAIN , you think Whats Wrong with this one , On The plus side i have only yesterday used your site and im amazed at how helpfull people have been , I Wish you all well in selling your cars and hopefully soon be able to paticipate
Regards

It has been very slow - but it is picking up now and like said earlier wait while may comes and everyone will be buying.

I say keep your price high !!!,if it is a good car .We sometimes reduce our cars right down and it still doesnt make a **** of differance ! its not always the answer giving them away!

We had 10 potential customers down to see us today, that is a good sign it is picking up - sold 4! :D

the other thing is if you keep droping prices and like me you study the regular mags ect(autotrader)and i see you keep droping i start to wonder whats wrong with yours?trouble is a lot of people are bringing cars in from japan now and there of a low grade to start with! so if you see an e2 for £3495 and see one at £5495 your going to go see the cheap one first, even though it wont(probably) be a patch on what it should be.
Theres been a e3 advertised for weeks now in the trader at £3500 and i went to see it straight away the first time it was advertised. No pile of poo thought it may be worth spending a few quid on and knock it back out,i would of ended up spending more than what i could get a decent one for!
Genuine dealer/importers should know the grade of car(thats what its set up for)and tell you over the phone as to any faults, private sales are the same if your car is genuine and a clean example then keep your price that you want someone somewere will appreciate it and buy it because its genuine. ;)

Totally agree with you ,,especially with the grades of cars that some importers are bringing in! :(

Sometimes we cannot compete,, because of them bringing low grade cars in,but unfortunatly most people go and view the cheapest first ,some realise and the others get caught out

Buyers who dont do their research simply dont know how much money it costs to put a bad car right either.

Always buy the best available is my motto. May cost you a bit more to start but will cost you less to run and you will always sell it on easily and at a good price. Plus you will have the pleasure of knowing you have the best car around :D

Leonard -

You are exactly right... I wish everyone thought like that Leonard

I get people saying "well i got my car for this much money " £1000 cheaper than your wanting for yours" etc etc ,

Then in the next breath they have spent £1500 putting things right. and asking us to service it ,do a cambelt change ,change their speedo to run in miles etc etc

Normally you get what you pay for!

Yep spot on chaps i agree.i always try and bring in standard grade 4 cars,i think your always better off with a standard car and then tune from there(if you wish)its no good having exhausts and filters if the buyer try's to knock it back saying he didn't want that brand of exhaust ect, hopefully people reading this may learn a thing or two, nobody is saying there arent bargains out there, there is just not loads of them and not every day!

Hello chaps. Agree with all of the above, would never go for the cheapest as there is probably a reason why its the cheapest.
Just in the same way I would'nt buy the cheapest sofa/tv etc etc.

However(flame suit on) I think some people put their cars up for sale with the car equivalent of beer goggles on. It seems as though they've bought an Evo thinking its a depreciation free car and its not. No car is.

Second point is some want to mod, so it does'nt really matter if the clutch/brakes 'go' soon after purchase as they are planned to be upgraded anyway, might aswell get the car a little cheaper.

Some people trying to sell 5-6 year old cars at over 60% of the new value are perhaps being optimistic? But if they can get it, good luck.

It has really amazed me how the last 12 months have gone for EVO prices.

I had about £12.5k to spend this time last year and couldn't find a descent V anywhere for that.
All EVO prices had held strong for many years and just gradually dropped.........

then for some reason in the last 12 months they went stupid, which is one of the other reasons I have left the evo fold until prices sort themselves out, as you can lose a lot of money ATM in a VI onwards.

The market does seem to have been flooded unfortunatley and there are some excellent bargains to be had, but also some top spec cars are proving difficult to sell due to this.

Try Autotrader & Top marques, but a lot of potential TME buyers may now be looking at VIII's instead ?

Yep totally agree :( Think it is worth hanging in for 2-3 years so the chaff disapears and the good original genuine cars are left and prices stabalise. Like BMW E30 M3's for example
