My experience suggests that probably the pad surfaces have become glazed. Cutting the glaze with coarse grit sand paper may give temporary improvement of the noise. If this does not help first examine a new pair of pads and try to replicate the angle of chamfer to the leading and trailing edges of the brake pads. The final solution though may be a new pair of OEM pads, which do seem to be quite squeal resistant.

If you upgraded the brake pads, chances are the new pads are causing the noise. If not, maybe your old pads are worn out and the caliper is already hitting the discs?

This is due to too much slow driving with hard pads. You have two options:

1 Move to the south island where you will be able to use your evo properly.
2 Take the car to maximum speed and brake as hard as possible to a stop and repeat until brakes can be smelt. Then drive slowly to let cool off. Town driving unfortunately will cause problem to return.
