I know that I own a Subaru and not a Mitsubishi, however what happened to me could have happened to you.

I have recently had a bad experience with a bad installation of an alarm in my car.http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/sad1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >

Toad, the alarm manufacturers, do not believe that they have any responsibility.

Maybe you could visit my site and read my story, and if you feel strongly enough perhaps you would sign my support book. I am trying to demonstrate that the man in the street cannot be pushed around, and a good show of support at the site seems to be the best way to show it.

The site is at either http://www.stevegoode.co.uk or http://www.jlha.freeserve.co.uk/stevegoode

Feel free to pass the links on to any car owners you think might be interested.

The sad thing is, I can't see how I could have done things differently. I researched the alarms, picked an approved installer from a magazine that specialises in Japanese cars. I paid my money, all the buttons on my control fob worked. Sorted......not so!

My thanks in advance to anybody that signs and I will keep this board updated on progress if you wish.

Cheers

Steve

(I thought the Fireman Sam handle was appropriate!)

PS My next alarm must have a smoke detector and a sprinkler system in the spec!![img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/laugh1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >

Signed it. What a crap install! I didn't think anyone could do such a bad job and still be an approved installer!
I will definitely check my install.

You do have legal rights on this .Recommendation is put forward as a guarantee of workmanship.
A ceramics tile company who shall remain named[I may get into trouble if a tiles R us manager reads this ,having said that they can,t keep staff long enough and they couldn't afford an EVO. TILES R US.had been sued for recommending a particular fitter. He messed up and the customer sued the recomendee.
I have to be careful not to recommend ,and am advised to say that these people are fitters and are trained to do the job.How ever I cannot gaurantee their work.
Toad by supplying alarms to these approved sites are recommending that you go to them.
Your insurance company should be doing more for you as well.

cheers

Sam, what can anyone say? I've signed your site.

I think it's safe to say TOAD will suffer from this as these lists reach far and near. Oh, how a simple solution readily dismissed can hit big companies where it hurts.

Hard luck, when we hand our cars over to have work done we trust the people to carry out the correct work. All can say is what my brother said earlier (AndyB), is that next time get a Clifford. Both my brothers have had them fitted to there cars, there have been some faults, the peugeot 206 didnt like them at first, but it seems fine now. The dealer was really help full, no problem to big or too small, even though we caused alot of the probelms.
Ive had no problems and its been on a year now.(touch wood)
We can always be knowledgable after the event, but sh t happens and we are the ones that always end up picking up the bill. Insurance compaines are the devil re-born!!!!!

Sam,
what can I say it sounds like you have had a lot of NOT BOTHERED ATTITUDE from toad. Just found this site so don't know the full story but am a bit concerned as I had a toad alarm/imobilser fitted to my gsr when I was based over in Cyprus as thats where I bought it, and ever since it seems to be draining the power overnight. Havn't had chance to get it looked at as I'm over in Kosovo at the moment and the car is back at home alone. Tried to access your site but couldn't get into any of the links, keep posting updates here so we can see how you get on

best of luck
