I wonder if any one in EVO land has had any experience of this dump valve?
Don't really want a HKS so looked at this one.
And what would the difference be between the OEM recirculating and an aftermarket one
other than the sound of course.

Hi Gosilla,

Heard that the OEM is good till 1.25 bar, the R2D2 I'm using is not as loud and has a loud pitch than the Blitz or HKS.

2 cents worth. :)

What difference have you noticed after fitting it?.
And do you recon the sound of the Sard is better ( unbiased view if you canhttp://www.lancerregister.com/graphics/tongue1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle > )

Hi Tony,

The R2D2 is much softer and more subtle, I am using it because the pitch is lower compare to the HKS thus not as noisey.
I think the BOV is more of a safety and entertaining gadget (part?) :D if you are running above standard boost. The OEM with modification is good for up to 1.5bar of boost in japan http://www.lancerregister.com/graphics/laugh1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >

btw the sound from the Sard is much shorter compared to the HKS given the same duration of lift-off :)

cheers

hope this helps

Was it a kit with all the right bits or the BOV on its own.
Do you have any pictures of it installed or do you have any installation diagrams?

Thanks

Hi, Sorry for the late reply

Trying to look for photos of the setup

No luck, it is actually a kit if I am not mistaken, I did not install it myself, my garage guy did it for me, it is right below the intercooler pipe that goes into the intake manifold. (may have gotten the names wrong, :) not very mechnical incline.

Cheers

Hi,

Sorry about the detail, Not sure what Cecil Sport Japan did to it. Cost 13300 yen for Evo 7 and 9800 yen for 1-6.5

Not sure if this is just the modification charges or they will actually give you a new OEM BOV. :)
