i'm still running the stock radiator that came with my 1600 and its not really up to cooling the 4G63BT so i'm looking for a replacement, preferably bolt in. EX2000 and EX1800 one's aren't readily available over here but starion ones are if they'd be any good (don't fit apparently?). turbo sigma and galant ones might be found as well if they're worth the trouble????

also english fords and most other cars from over there are pretty hard to find so i'm looking more for japanese alternatives, 2-3 cores preferably and with the inlet and the outlet in the right place. i can adjust/weld brackets to suit.

just trying this before i take the measuring stick out to pickapart for a look,

cheers

I saw a decent Galant Rwd one for $50 on TM a while ago. Also there are a couple of Starion's for sale in the Mitsi parts section, not sure if they are for sale seperate or complete car.

had a talk to some guys i know (brett aka rallitubby and mike) who run an EX1800 converted to 2 litre/multipoint/link etc today, they're running a sigma diesel stationwagon radiator recored to 3 cores and they reckon it keeps the engine completely cool, its for rallying too so would get driven pretty hard, so i'm going to look into something like that. might have to shoot out to pick a part this week and grab that galant radiator for something to start with.

cheers

ive just put a sigma one in.Its alot bigger than the stock lancer one.Bolted straight in, apart from the bottem hose is diffferent. The radiater hose at the bottem isnt straight. Its got a 90 degree bend on it.Seems to have done the trick tho

is that a rwd sigma one? i went looking today, the one in the galant turbo i was going to grab was gone :( looked through everything else in all 3 pick a parts but the only other rwd car was a non turbo galant which has the same radiator as what i've got (as far as i could tell from memory)

there were a few fwd sigma ones, heaps bigger, hose connections could be made to work but it looked like they would be too wide to go between the chassis rails so would sit too high.

cheers

sweet, i'll just assume you mean RWD (rear wheel drive) cause the FWD one's are heaps wider, not taller.

might have to go and double check that galant one then for height, take a measuring stick this time instead of just winging it

cheers
