Hey,

Recently purchased a 2008 Lancer EVO X GSR FQ300 SA.

Looking to replace the factory fitted head unit for a more modern, bluetooth streaming enabled preferably, system.

I have been told that because I have the Rockford Fosgate system, there is no direct replacement.

Can anyone shed some light?

I got an android unit in October to replace my Rockford, you get them with the right canbus to connect directly to the amp, got mine off aliexpress for £220 I think it was. Get a Bluetooth obd and you can read all your dials and faults, usually come with inputs for front and rear camera and you can get a dongle so you can have apple play on it.

I have just installed 10.2 screen Android and so far trying to figure out what is wrong with it as it sounds terrible and subwoofer is gone....Back and forth messages with seller in China...

I think for the Rockie Fosgate, there is an additional box that needs to be added into the system. It should of been an option when purchasing.

Probably need to update the firmware of the unit. There is a specific threads on the XDA forums for updating the units

That's great. Thank you. Looking at it will need a bit of time to understand this if at all. Awaiting another canbus to see if mine if somehow faulty
