Lads,
Can the CAT be removed on the Evo 2, Has anyone done it?
When under the car I thought I saw a 'puddy Cat', seriosly a wire going to a sensor in or very near the CAT. What does one do with this, is there a sensor in the CAT?

Thanks,
Steve.

If it is the same as the E4 then it is a high temperature sensor. I am not sure how relevant it is but it was done away with from the E5 onwards to meet regulations. I think you can get away with disconnecting it, try it and see.

I have had my cat removed and the wire was made redundent E4,no warning light on board comes on.Its is only there as HH6 says as a heat sensor for the cat.
I guess the reason why no lights come on is that there is no heat.So just tie it up .

cheers

Hi Steve,
Leave the bloody car alone!!!http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/tongue1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >.[img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/biggrin1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >
Anyway just take the cat out and try to tie the wire up somewhere. I removed the cat from a Friends Charade DeTomaso and found when I attached the wire to the body somewhere the warning light on the dash went out. But not sure if this works on the EVO.
Anyway don't know if you'll gain much from removing cat unless you uprate exhaust. Also don't know if the NCT will allow it[img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/sad1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >.

Shorty use the 'Help' link at the top of the page for information on how to post pictures. You need to have the picture stored on a web server somewhere though.
