Hi,

I bought my Mak in Cambridge, but work in Guildford. Any of you top blokes reccomend a service garage in the area. Doesn't seem to be any over where I live in Kent. I see there's a Mitsu Ralliart place in Ripley - any help/advice appreciated. It's a UK car so I obvioulsy prefer having the dealer stamp...

Cheers,

Pete

steve hill Msport.

Regardless of it being a UK car, i cannot recommend any Mitsi dealer. The nearest one to me in Surrey tried to have me for 300 quid by inventing problems (yes, my rear lower arm is still FINE thank you, some 10K miles later !!!). There are some good ones around though so if you really have to stick to one as opposed to a bespoke evo specialist who really knows what he's doing and knows these cars properly, then pick one based upon real good recommendation. Whats more important, your warranty's validty or your car/wallet's health ?

good luck

II run an evo rally team based in the Guildford area, Normandy, do repairs and upgrades to evos, but I use Mill Lane ralliart dealer, Odiham on Surrey/ Hants border, for warrenty work, and SAS in aldershot for turbo upgrades/ tuning, you comming to bolney meet?
All the best, RogerRally

Thanks Rich. You're right of course, but I'm willing to give one a try for the sake of the warranty.

Cheers RogerRally, I may be moving to Farnham soon, so that's perfect. I may come along on the sixteenth, see how the house hunting goes.

I have used Mill Lane for the last 18 months and my service a couple of weeks ago will probably be my last.
My pet hate with Mill Lane is charging for screenwash when they never put it in. 3 times they have done that to me now, the first time I missed it and just wrote it of as a mistake but the second and third time I picked it up and made them take it off the bill (I always make sure the bottles are filled so I don't get charged for it). It may be only a couple of quid but it's the principle behind it. If they are charging me for something that I know they can't have done then what else have they charged me for and not carried out?

Before the last service I spoke to the Service Manager to see if he was prepared to set up a discount for MLR members and he was quite happy to discuss it as he said MLR members had recommended them to other people. We agreed to have a chat about it one Saturday but when I picked my car up the next day I had the hassle over the screenwash yet again and when I got home I realised the warranty/service book was missing. When I rang them they said they would put it in the post or give me a ring if they couldn't find it but it has not turned up and I have had no phone call. I am not too worried as they never bother to stamp it anyway, I have all the invoices to prove the servicing and the warranty runs out in April so I will just write it off. Anyway to cut a long story short I will not be setting up a discount with them and I will no longer recommended them. I can forgive the odd few mistakes as everyone is human but I have been continually unimpressed with their service and enoughs enough. On a plus side they do seem to know what they are doing when they do a job (they did my gearbox bearings relatively trouble free) but they are expensive (£60/hour labour).

I know it has been mentioned by other people before but I think a star rating of garages would be a good idea, perhaps that is something that could be implemented with the new forum (polls).

Black Knight,
It looks like I may travel all the way down to you next time as you have been so helpful in the past. I hope your servicing is as good as your help :D.

Splodge,
What sort of work do you do on Evo's? Are you happy to work on non competion evos?, Normandy sounds very handy especially as I work in Woking.
