Hi chaps

Just bought a Group A Rad Cap, Wow!!!, i can hear the crys already!!

Hadn't run the car all day, yet when i undid the old one, coolant decided to run everywhere!
(No the engine was not running!!!!!)
Should this happen on a cold car?
Bottle level reads ok?
