Radar Detectors

Guys, with the choice to go for an evo soon and use it for company car mileage, i think an investment in a radar detector would be worth while to help save my license (although i am a careful driver but can't see it being the case all the time in a car like this...plus having driven a diesel for a year!).

Whats the best on the market?

I've tried out the road angel but to be honest, found that its only useful for static camera's you've uploaded into its memory. Don't detectors exist that can pick up on police cars etc? I know they exist in america in the same way that they are able to listen in on police radio etc!

Any advise would be appreciated
