I had the B and amp;M short-shift kit fitted to my E-5 a month ago and I must say is one such item worth investing. The shift is about 15-20% shorter and the feel of the gearchange is more precise.
Whilest visiting Ralliart before Christmas, I met someone haveing the Ralliart quick-shift removed, he reckoned the amount of time saved changing gears was being off-set against the amount of times he fudged a gear change, because the mechanism was too precise.
I think it just comes down to personal preference.
