Hi guys,

I was driving my 8 today and the car was driving fine like always although at speeds of 60+ mph I can hear what sounds like a warping whine. The frequency of the sound didn't increase with speed but it did disappear when I dropped below 60ish so I just put it down to my spoiler cutting through the wind. Having said this it did sound like it was coming from my R/N/S wheel which I recently damaged and was repaired.

Later on doing 70mph my ABS light come on whilst driving so then I then thought that the sound could actually be a wheel bearing issue and is faffing about with the ABS somehow? When I turned the engine off and on the light stayed on a while but then went off and it hasn't been on since. I haven't got a fault code reader yet either but it's on the shopping list!

Any advice on what I'm up against here will be much appreciated :)

Sorry mate I'm a bit confused in understanding your post. Do you mean it could be the ABS wheel speed sensor and it could also cause the AYC light to come on as well?
Yes mate it can!
I had an AYC light when I had a faulty ABS speed sensor.

Well I took it to get the fault codes read today by the guys at MG but it came up with no fault codes at all so it is a strange one. As for the noise, I've just got to keep an ear out just in case it gets worse but it's been fine today.
