Hi all

asked for a other pop off valve..., he
explained that the originally pop off is
already well-built and it wouldn't increase
the response-time.

..he also told me, that the EVO hast got
another Turbo-circuit than the Ford Cossi

Question..: it worth to buy another

pressure ??

I think the general opinion is that the Evo 6 dump valve (pop off seems to imply something going wrong for some reason... border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >) is quite good running standard boost. Yes, if you want the 'Pssshhhht!!' then you will need a vent to atmoshpere valve (VTA), the best of these is apparently the HKS Super Sequential.

As for the other 'turbo circuit', I think you're dealer is referring to the anti-lag system that is fitted to the Evo 6 but not enabled with the factory ECU. The secondary air system that operates on continued wide throttle opening is part of it and is operational form the factory. I'm sure someone else can explain better (HH6? Don't fit a vent to air blow off valve on the evo,it will have more lag at low rpm after braking and probably some idle problems.
If you run higher boost than standard fit a recirculating aluminium one for better quality,and if you just want to hear the 'pssshhhht'fit a special air filter like the blitz one or the hks racing suction kit,you will be able to hear the 'pssshhhht' of the standard dump valve from the filter and you will improve performance without any side effects at the same price!

VTA BOV is **** if your ECU is not mapped with different air meter values than the standard ones. In other words, if you dont have a Motec, dont fit some stupid HEAVY HKS dual selenoshit valve

Wooohhh Evoboy, no offense man, I was told this ans it seemed very true. Not saying a VTA doesnt work, just it's no better. A lot of people seem to agree with me.


I got a Forge Motorsport recirculating dump valve which is made of aircraft alloy . You can see it on the Forge web site. I also have a Blitz filter. The sound is amazing, it bangs when you change gears and the air comes out of the metal dump valve through the metal filter! border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >
As the dump valve is recirculating, you dont change anything in the way the engine works, just get the same thing made from better material, better looking and better sounding. Oh, and they say the OEM dump valve lets pressure bleed off at low revs and this one doesnt. You can tell a very slight difference (which might be due to reasoning). Anyway, I have it and really love it. David Reid Motorsport sell it for GBP 120, Forge for GBP 140. I had to get it from Forge because I couldnt get hold of DR.
