Why is it U have 2 have a plumbing emergency on a Sunday morning!?!

Ive managed to shear my hot bath tap off & now need to stop it...

HELP!

turn the water off at the hot water tank. If you don't have a gate valve to turn it off or have a combi boiler (no hot water tank) turn the mains cold water off and it will stop (if its a hot water tank it may take 15min). Then wait for a plumber or go buy a new tap and have a bash yourself

if you're really stuck get a hammer and hammer the pipe flat against the floor ( copper ) or bend it over and tie off (plastic ). after that comes the mopping ...

Turned the mains water tap off as couldnt turn any others! Water has now stopped...

Tried phoning a plumber but no answers! (prob best as i doubt its cheap on a Sunday ) Gonna wait til 2moz...(tight)

Time to go knock on the neighbours door with a towel... Then off to Homebase!

offer a plumber a look @ some of your photos of your girlfriends .. work everytime . . best thing to do DD is get 2 flexi conectors to supply the taps . theses come with inline valves to shut the water off if you ever have problems like you have encountered .
b&q and wickes sell them !! look like goodridge hose .

I only used a towel for a bit of grip! I think the hot water expanded the fittings & welded the tap fully open...******* thing just sheared off in me hand!

get speed fit connectors. cut pipe clean, push on , pull back a tad, job done. b&q sell them. no solder, no spanners, no leaks. brilliant. oh and no plumbers bill.

I am now filling the toilet cystern from water I saved in the bath...that be the washing water

When im finished, im gonna donate to wateraid...
