Has anybody fitted the PE sealed airbox (or something similar)? I know that in theory at least, keeping the air as cool as possible should maximize the power. But in real world terms, are the benefits tangible? The kit isn't cheap, and if the improvements are marginal, then I'd rather spend the dosh on something else!

Cheers!

A sealed airbox with a cold air intake has very tangible benefits compared to an open style performance filter in the engine bay. Underbonnet temperaturescan easily get above 50 deg. C on a hot day when you're caning it.

Yes but the intake air goes through the intercooler anyway. No doubt a box is better , but by how much? Has anybody ever measured intake temps with and without the box?

Claudius,
But if the air enters the .....cooler at a lower temp it will be cooler when leaving it !
Sealed cold air boxes work well .

thanks for your inputs! i imagine it would be more helpful here in the philippines, where ambient temperatures are routinely in the 30's!

any more experiences out there? theory and what goes in the real world arent' always consistent! |EQU|)
