I have a laptop with a good spec, but just recently when I try to play music that I have stored on the hard drive, the music just stutters all the time plus the laptop takes ages to boot up.

Its ok if I put a music cd in though, it plays fine.

It happens in real one and windows media player. It's ****ing me right off !!!!! :wallbang:

I've checked for viruses, spyware ect

I run windows XP

If your nearly running out of disc space, delete stuff.
Check your cpu speed, see if there is a unknown program stealing it all.
Defraging is a good idea if the defrager tells you to do it, p2p really fragments your drive.
What about the sound drivers, have you change the drivers or any drivers recently?

If all else fails, reformat and reinstall. :coolsm:
