I bought one of these on the 28th online from Comet £899 and it was due to get delivered Thursday just past. It didn't arrive so I called on Friday and must have spent a good hour on the phone, got hung up on about 4 times aswell.
My order was lost, apparently they're re-using old order/delivery no's. Absolutley hopeless, it was a nightmare to sort out. I had to end up cancelling it.

I ended up geting one reserved instore with Currys and picked it up, no fuss. It's a brilliant TV. There are a few discount codes floating about the net so that you can get it down to £809 :)

It sells for £899 at PCWorld, Currys and Comet, probably others too.

Oh, if you go onto AVforums there's a 200+ page thread about this tv. Lots of questions and answers in there.

It's been replaced, that's why its going for so cheap.

Just make sure you take it off dynamic and drop the contrast and brightness down below 50 for the first 100-200 hours ;)

I bought one online last week for £839 from here sound and vision

Didn't realise that all the stores were doing it too. I saw it via a thread on scoobynet, always loved the idea of the 42" Viera but they've been a fair bit of dough.. until now.

I sort of had a nightmare with mine..

Did it online and it dissapeared off their website, they then rang me later to say it'd sold out and they would cancel my order if I wanted.

I rang comet and they had none either so I stuck with sound and vision. Not going to get it for a couple of weeks though! he did say if the price drops any further he'll give me that iff too.

You know, LEC Concepts never mentioned this to me when I got the 506XDE - obviously I can't tell the difference because thats my first screen but its still effing annoying that so called specialists couldn't even give me basic advice like this. It was only when some helpful MLR member pointed me towards avforums that I eventually learned about it.

why's that then
You need to let them settle a little and bed in, common practice on all plasmas at the start. The last thing you want is yourv nice shinny plasma with a nice sky logo burned into the top corner :D

AV forums is a great site, although of late the forum police have been rather over active, stamping on members and closing threads for the sillyest reasons. But to be fair it is a family forum so I guess they have to be careful.

It's then time to have it ISF calibrated :D ;) :p

£899 is pretty much the "High Street" price of a 42PX60, until 31/01/07, just a shame they have no stock
