:D i have just opened my copy of banzai and looked at the ads in the back, there is a company offering an in-line octane boost. apparently you just put it anywhere in your fuel line and fill up with 95 RON, it then uses a catalyst to turn it into 100 RON before it gets to your injectors.

is this 1 of those "too good to be true ads" or does anybody know if they work? all thoughts greatly recieved. :D :D

agree with Oli & Stu

think of it this way...
these engines run best on 100ron but most available at present is the 'Tesco 99ron' fuel (supposedly from Esso)
- the oil companies spend millions on creating high performance-RON fuel/fuel in general
but the catalyst will do the same for £60 outlay!
....how ?

the advert also states that you'll get your money back if not satisfied after a 5000mile test period
& that it improves your economy & lowers emissions ....how ?
- doesn't say anything about them paying for repairs when your engine goes pop....

btw
I bought a classic car with a similar device fitted a few years ago....supposedly turned 4-star/LRP into unleaded
& was sold in the same way with same performance claims

Is that the one that one of the classic car mags tested and they saw massive valve seat recession, in fact so much, they said the thing did absolutely nothing and the result was comparable to just sticking unleaded straight in?
