Nildram (ADSL) are also upgrading all customers to 2Mbit free of charge though they've slapped on a 50gig bandwidth limit. Anyone paying for the 2Mbit (like me) will have the price dropped down to 25 quid a month which isnt bad.

I think the majority of other ADSL providers will be following suit as this is a BT push.

Nothings free ;)

BT have changed how they charge ISPs to a usage based charge.

It aint strictly "free", they need you to change and since BT are instigating it, you can bet your sweet bippy the majority will be worse off :(

Well i'm worse off because I was quite happy to keep paying the fee for 2mbit and a static IP with no caps. Suddenly I've got a monthly 50gig cap - one i never asked for.

If I wanted the 2mbit chav edition I would have asked for it. :(

Looks like they may have got me a pearler at work, my ISP upgraded my 512mb, £21.99pcm unmetered package for free AND reduced the price to £12.49 ;) Great ...

Bargain

nope ... 50gb cap is wayyyy too low, looks like it'll cost me around £50pcm to get the rate I was using :(

The uprated speed aint worth **** all either, I could live with the 0.002secs it took to check my emails and at 2Gb half the graphics don't load on web pages 1st time round :(

Don't forget uploading is still stuck on 256mb :(
