Thanks for that mate I've just been upgraded from 750kb to 2mb broadband free of charge :coolsm:

Nildram (ADSL) are also upgrading all customers to 2Mbit free of charge though they've slapped on a 50gig bandwidth limit. Anyone paying for the 2Mbit (like me) will have the price dropped down to 25 quid a month which isnt bad.

I think the majority of other ADSL providers will be following suit as this is a BT push.

BT have changed how they charge ISPs to a usage based charge.

It aint strictly "free", they need you to change and since BT are instigating it, you can bet your sweet bippy the majority will be worse off

Well i'm worse off because I was quite happy to keep paying the fee for 2mbit and a static IP with no caps. Suddenly I've got a monthly 50gig cap - one i never asked for.

If I wanted the 2mbit chav edition I would have asked for it.

Looks like they may have got me a pearler at work, my ISP upgraded my 512mb, £21.99pcm unmetered package for free AND reduced the price to £12.49 Great ...

nope ... 50gb cap is wayyyy too low, looks like it'll cost me around £50pcm to get the rate I was using

The uprated speed aint worth **** all either, I could live with the 0.002secs it took to check my emails and at 2Gb half the graphics don't load on web pages 1st time round

Don't forget uploading is still stuck on 256mb

just upgraded on the ntl to 2mb but they have capped it at 1gig per day
