I have been considering trying nitrogen in my tyres. Some people swear by the benefits:

  • Improved comfort of ride
  • Improved safety
  • Increased fuel savings
  • Improved life of tyre

But other people think it is a waste of time:

For what it is supposed to cost (about £2 per tyre) I would have a go and decide myself, but I can't find anywhere near me (Dudley, West Midlands)that does it

Aww well, my nearest centres which do it are in Galashiels or Elgin

Both over 60 miles away, think i'll just use normal air

I have been considering trying nitrogen in my tyres. Some people swear by the benefits:

  • Improved comfort of ride - how so as the pressure will be the same
  • Improved safety - cant see it as tyres will be at correct pressure regardless
  • Increased fuel savings - see point above
  • Improved life of tyre - again , if the pressure will be no different then why ?
I understand the race boys use it as their tyres get ridiculously hot and its the only way of maintaning the pressure without keep pitting. In answer to the benefits in your list I`ll play devils advocate

Yeah, I'm sceptical too (see the second link I posted). But if its only a tenner or so and they bother to use it in the new GTR35 I thought it might be worth a try.

Just called Birmingham. They say it's free if you are a member, but if you are not they won't do it. Doh! :frust:

Thanks anyway :smthumbup
