I had two of these and thought they were v. quick, but handling is a bit hairy, especially in the wet. Good old fashioned fun though.

Had a 200sx before my Scoob. J Reg in white.Never broke down or had any problems with her (new rear brake lines i think been the only exception)

Very nice motor, ended up keeping her over 3 years, in the end she had 17ers on her, lowered and uprated shocks, GpN fuel pump, uprated actuator, chip, *Janspeed* exhaust http://www.lancerregister.com/graphics/embarassed1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle > Tarox grooved discs and pads........

Lost alot of money to sell fast, daft really but that sums me up i spose :D

I`d buy one again........

Rich.

I have also heard they are good and Performance Car mag sorted one of their staff 200SX (S2) a while back with some decent suspension which transformed it (custom built development jobs).
All I know on the standard motors is to watch out for shagged turbo's at roughly 60k miles but as the one you have mentioned has a new turbo then it shouldn't be a problem. I suppose you should watch out for the clutch if it hasn't been touched on an uprated motor otherwise I believe the rest is strong and is often called a poor mans Skyline. Styling is a bit of an aquired taste though but still good value at £3500 (hey I wouldn't pay the asking price ;)). Obviously check out the insurance on a modified motor as that can be a major influence on running costs.

I had a 200sx too, crap as standard, shite brakes, soft suspension, iffy build quality,
fairly quick tho, well balanced, not too nice 80's styling.

Oh, tail happy too, so buy Racelogic Traction control.....especially if the wifes driving http://www.lancerregister.com/graphics/Wilk.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| middle >

However, this car oozes potential, and with the right parts im sure they would give an
evo a hard time on a dry road.

I spent a fortune on my 200 and it was bloody impressive, sold it for a RWD Sapph Cosworth
and to date, that was the worst decision of my life and amp;lt;except for getting married and amp;gt; the Cossie,
for me, is the *WORST* car ive ever owned and amp;lt;and ive had a few [img]http://www.lancerregister.com/graphics/Wilk.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| middle > and amp;gt;

Hi ,
I had one of these for 2 years but some expensive probs...Turbo blew up on my wedding day (yes I am still married) auto box shift was a bit suspect, servicing cost a lot..and finally the road handling in the wet was HEART STOPPING.http://www.lancerregister.com/graphics/tongue1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >
I lost a shed load of money on the car when I sold it to a french guy.
The car is now in france .

Stud,
The engines on those things r bomb proof , check out the 1 on Beasts from the East (Maxpower) 800 bhp !!!!!! The guy did a burnout and dug holes in the road :)
The Aussies luv em , loads of tuning potential.

Hiya,

I had one for a couple of months to tide me over waiting for the evo, nippy little thing, a bit cramped in the back, but good fun in the wet! Your wife will like it i'm sure.

if Maxpower says it's 800bhp, you'll need to apply the maxpower bulls**t quotient on it and divide the BHP by at least 2 :D

If you can get 1500bhp out of a second hand, 100k mile BMW 1.6 ltr engine
then im sure 700bhp out of a 1.8 200sx is not impossible

The one on the Max Power video is the S14 I believe. A G reg 200sx should be the S13 I think. Quite different cars ... but both give good performance and reliability.
