Hi all,

Purchased my first evo last Thursday (27/10/2022) from an auction house in Japan. Thought I would throw a post up on here to introduce myself and the car.

I’ve mainly came from a Honda background, a couple of Dc5’s, ep3, accord type r. Currently have a sunset orange BMW M140i as a daily driver with a pure800 hybrid turbo, KW V3’s, staggered Advan RZ wheels and lots more. After almost 4 years of ownership, I decided it was time to purchase another toy as a weekend/sunny day car, and possibly some track days.

On to the Evo.

Its a black IX, Grade 4B with 108 thousand Km’s.

Modifications include

Rays Gram Lights 57DR Alloy 18x9.5 et 38 265/35/18
HKS GT3-RS Turbo
PROJECT MU SCR-PRO BRAKE ROTOR SET FRONT
PROJECT MU SCR BRAKE ROTOR SET REAR
HPI EVOLVE ALUMINUM RADIATOR
BLITZ SE INTERCOOLER KIT
Tomei Expreme Turbo Elbow and Downpipe - Evo 7-9
Greddy ALUMINIUM INTAKE PIPE SET & intercooler piping
HKS Hipermax IV GT Suspension
HKS RACING SUCTION
ARC Titanium Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield
Tein Front Strut Bar
Cusco Rear ARB
CUSCO POWER BRACE FRONT MEMBER
C-West N1 Front Bumper (PFRP) for Mitsubishi Evo 8 / Evo 9
VARIS 12K CARBON VENTED COOLING HOOD FOR 2005-07 MITSUBISHI EVO IX
Voltex Rear Diffuser: Evo IX Bumper
Voltex Side Skirts
HKS TURBO TIMER
HKS EVC-S Electronic Boost Controller
Ralliart Carbon Gear Knob - 6-Speed
Greddy Trust TI-R cat back exhaust
Blitz Oil, water, boost & another gauge

This is what I’ve managed to piece together so far from the images provided after having the car inspected.

Im sure I’ll have loads of questions as we go… but as the car is from Japan (where they appear to have 100ron fuel), I’m guessing a fresh map, or at least a check up will be required? I’m used to adding a few L of ethanol to improve ignition timing on the BMW. I’m not sure what ecu it’s on currently, but assume it’s been mapped already as the MAF has been removed.

Thanks!

Kenz.

Looks like nice spec. Checking the map would be advisable so it can be adjusted to our petrol.
Where about in the country are you ? There’s few Evo specialists around
Thanks, I'm up in Blackpool, North West England. Yeah, I'd like it adjusting for peace of mind more than anything.

I have a few friends with Evo's and have been advised to get it booked in with G-R Performance.
