I'm getting my new Magnex full system fitted in the next couple of days http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/biggrin1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >

Does anyone have experience of any particular problems that might be encountered when fitting it? It is being fitted by Autotechnics in Chichester and they haven't done an Evo before (plenty of Scoobys apparently).

By the way, is anyone interested in buying a Ralliart SS rear box: good as new, nice and shiny, nice deep sound, £400|PLS| from Ralliart. £150ish, but open to offers!

Let me know how you get on as I am considering a Magnex, its just a matter of finding somewhere decent down south to supply and fit one. Any recommendations? Anybody fitted one themselves?

Had it fitted this morning, took about an hour. Cost was £537.28, including fitting http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/happy1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >

I couldn't believe the size of the pipes, it looks like a drainpipe! It was a really good fit, the garage said it was one of the easiest exhausts they have ever fitted.

On tickover and at constant throttle, it sounds just like my Ralliart back box, with a nice deep burble [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/happy1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >

Full on acceleration is unbelievable [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/biggrin1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle > [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/biggrin1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle > [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/biggrin1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle > It sounds like a rally car, complete with pops and bangs when I hit the rev limiter in second (oops!). It is so loud that it drowns out the sound of the Blitz filter [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/sad1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >

I couldn't really say if the car is any faster, but now it's even more fun [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/happy1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >

Get one

Daryl,

Glad you're happy with it. I have to put my order in with Dragon now for the exhaust and amp; filter. After going for that quick blast the other week the only thing I wasn't sure about was the 'pssht' noises the Blitz made - but since the Magnex drown 'em out, no reason not to get it!

Steve.

(PS: Heave Ho/Zippy - Dragon Autopsport in Colchester have been recommeded, as has Mark Shead (somewhere in Thames Valley I think).

Any other recommendations down south for the Magnex system?
Daryl do you recommend Autotechics now as you sound quite happy with it/them?
I am assuming they supplied the exhaust as well as fitting it?
Any of you with the Magnex's going to the Southern Rolling Road day?
Sorry thats a lot of questions, I am the weakest link, goodbye!

Yes, Autotechnics did supply it, so that's why I got them to fit it. They are a small outfit, mostly dealing with Fords (including rally prep.) from what I could see. They obviously knew what they were doing, but to be honest any half decent garage/exhaust centre should be able to fit it. In fact, if you have access to a 4 post lift, I'm sure you could fit it yourself quite easily http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/wink1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >

I'm hoping to go to the RR day (must send the cheque off!), so you are welcome to have a listen to it there.

Daryl,
So think after having the Magnex system fitted, it does make aninteresting noise. You also said you cannot tell the difference in performance. I am more interested in performance than the noise it makes. It seems that Magnex is not all that good after all.

We have a scoobie in our household and I just bought an E6, When we bought the scoob back in march I had a magnex system fitted by the dealer. He said that it was the best fitting aftermarket exhaust they had ever fitted before, the sound is excellent and there is a slight increase in performance. I guess it will be the same story on the E6 model. I'm going to order one for my E6 now.

PS Dennis grow up. The E6 is fast enough, and as far as increased performance goes I bet that if you rollin roaded a E6 with a magnex on it and one with say a blitz, there would not be that much difference in bhp. Certainly not double, which is what you will pay for the other exhaust sytems out there.

Personally I am looking at the most cost effective route without compromising quality and the Magnex looks like fitting the bill. I don't want to splash out another £200 - £300 on a different exhaust system just for an extra couple of Bhp. What ever upgrades you get you have to weigh up everything about it and make your own mind up. If we all had the same priorities then there would only be one upgrade component available!

I had the full Magnex system fitted inc. front down pipe, and must say I did feel a big improvement throughout the rev range.

I had the whole lot fitted at once, rather than going bit by bit, so I would have been disappointed if there hadn't been any difference.

My only regret is that it is slightly on the noisy side when accelerating hard.

I couldn't really say if the car is any faster, but now it's even more fun

When I said that, I meant that these things are often only subjective. Let's face it, even if it is faster, we are only talking tenths of a second. It certainly feels faster and my wife was even more terrified than usual when I took her out for a demo. http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/wink1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >

What I can say, is that it is basically just a bloody great big tube with a small silencer on the end and I would be very surprised if you could buy a less restrictive exhaust.

If you don't mind the noise, I can't recommend it highly enough.

Anyway, the proof of the pudding will come at Tuning Japanese on the 24th [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/happy1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle >

just fitted,today,magnex front pipe
mating to existing de-cat,hks rear
no increase in noise really,a little raspier ? spell ???does pull round to 7k freely though
a small improvement in power, which must mean 5bhp or so or any less and you wouldnt feel it

The E6 is fast enough (Mad MAN)

You're really mad, man!!

If you think the E6 is fast enough, why don't you drive the scooby and let your wife have the E6? She'll probably tell you she wants to get a Bozz Speed turbine kit and amp; HKS Hiper muffler for it!!!
