Hi guys

Picked up my new Evo from Capt.Mike yesterday and loving it so far!

Firstly I'll show you my previous car - A Corsa C with a bit of a twist...

Started off as a standard 1.8 SRi and ended up with a 420bhp Astra VXR engine with a GT3076

Won't bore you with lots of pics but here's what it was like

Respray (originally black):

Total Vauxhall photoshoot:

Engine (fully forged etc)

Anyway onto the Evo :D

Just as I was about to drive off from Mike's house

We then went out and did some night time photography :)

Back home for its first wash

and a few more random ones :)

Plans are:

- New wheels, probably Rota Grid Drifts in 9.5J
- Re-paint bonnet and front bumper due to stone chips
- Some carbon goodness
- Enjoy it :)

Would like to say a special thanks to Mike for being so helpful throughout the process of buying it and to his neighbour Ray for taking time to be there when I picked it up due to Mike being away :)

Stunning machine! A front number plate would spoil the lines of it!

Thanks mate, I agree lol
Started preparing the car for engine removal at the weekend

Gonna keep my turbo kit for now, it's too good to sell

All ready to be removed (I think)

Hoping to leave the transfer box on and just lower the subframe slightly, pretty sure it'll come forward enough to be lifted out?

Injectors arrived also :)

Stripped the engine down enough for it to go and get rebuilt...was worried about the release bearing in the gearbox after reading people have spent hours trying to get it released! But did it first time :)

Spent Friday prepping the engine bay ready to be re-painted.

There was some rust starting to appear where the bonnet stay bracket was so I removed that

Front panel wasn't looking the best either

So I spent ages on the lower front panel getting it back to bare metal with various wire brushes on a drill, then went round the whole engine bay and rust treated everywhere and left it over night. Didn't get any pictures of this unfortunately :(

So yesterday I got it trailered to work and got the engine bay painted...

In the booth all masked up

Etch primed

Wet on wet primed

Painted and lacquered

What a job you're doing Matt. Awesome to say the least. Wish i'd had your patience, and wallet, lol

Got the gearbox and other little bits back on ready for it all to go back in the bay

Mounted on 3 mounts, transfer box on, shafts in and most of the wiring in place...took me a while to get it mounted on my own without scratching anything but got there in the end :)

Manifold/turbo back on

Looking good, I nearly text you yesterday when I saw the pictures saying I might pop round, but I went home and had a nap instead haha

Much left to do?
Haha, just the rads, intercooler etc then gotta run the new fuel lines, fit swirl pot and other fuel pump then do all the fluids.
