Albeit new to the show calendar GT Battle is going to be one of this years biggest automotive events and will be held at possibly the most up-to-date motorsport venue in the UK; Rockingham Motor Speedway in Corby, on Saturday 25th June

For those of you who don't know, the main event will feature "Time Attack" (circuit), "Drift Battle" and "Zero-60". Although not a team event like TOTB, a number of MLR guys (Rob & Andy from Sumo Power, Simon Norris, MAD, RC Dev, T27, EvoToo, Jason Hulbert) have applied to compete and as GT Battle will be picking the very best cars for the competition, they will be chosen! ;) More are in the pipeline and if you want to apply it costs £75, and applications can be completed here.

The Zero-60 trial is the only part of the event that can be booked on the day (subject to availabilty) but the MLR may be booking a whole session for itself - so watch this space. There will also be stacks of other things going on at GT Battle; huge trade area, I.C.E display, radio-controlled drifting!, gaming zone, skateboarding & BMX displays, 4x4 course and chill out zones if it all becomes too much!! :coolsm:

The MLR has been helping the GT Battle organisers understand the requirements of the many clubs that will be attending, and has reserved a 75 car stand in prime location.

Discount tickets are now available on the MLR Shop for £14 each which also includes a car pass for the MLR Stand- the only way you'll get on! (Advance tickets through GT Battle are £15ea and on-the-day tickets are £20ea - but for the public car park only!)

Please don't leave booking to the last minute (like Japfest). When all MLR stand passes have gone, they've gone!

i was at Rockingham on Sunday and the HKS silvia did its promotional routine between races....

it was superb, the guy has mega car control and was drifting it down the main straight at what looked like huge speeds. he certainly did not appear to be afraid of the wall anyway.

im looking forward to this :coolsm:

Although the 'Time Attack' and 'Drift Battle' events at GT Battle are by application only, everyone can compete in the "Zero-60 Traffic Light Grand Prix" (subject to avalability).

Three runs cost £15 and if there's enough interest the MLR could even have its own Traffic Light Grand Prix session, although with each session taking 50 cars that's unlikely - and anyway, it might be more fun to go up against other 'quick' machinery!! :p

Tickets are now available on the MLR Shop, so book 'em now cos when they're gone, they're gone.

Note: They will be removed from the Shop on 21st June so we can tell GT Battle organisers who's booked in.

thanks darin we really appreciated your feedback when you visited Rockingham :D

MLR will be one of our "premium" jap clubs - which means you guys get some of the juciest parking spots and have least distance to walk to all the action

and yes KIKI from OPT did a very good job in the HKS S15

aat some points he was getting the one of the rear wheel on the grass @ over 100mph- the mud flew a few feet in the air!!

- i think this dude and his car may blow us away even more:

cheers Lex
