Hello people!

I was just wondering, does anyone have any experience with the MIVEC 1.6 and 1.8 engines? An acquiantace of mine is looking for info on how to tune and modify them. The Lancer here isn;t available with these engines in the Philippines, and no one seems to have much info about them.

I thought that since this is a LANCER board, well someone might know something then!

Any tips, any pointers, any suggestions / recommendations, words of knowledge, wisdom or advice would be greatly appreciatted!

Are you talking about the Lancer MR ?

I guess for the very first stage, go for MIVEC controller ,induction kit, exhaust system..
If you wannt tune the car through Jap way, then you have other electronic controllers to fit on without messing around your engine.

hi there, I'm new to this forum and your msg caught my attention... heres a pointer, Getting a Mivec controller for a standard enginee is a waste of money. Its only useful when you have certain engine mods already in. In standard form, the Mivec switchover point is already at its optimal point. A dyno run on a Lancer MR with a modded intake and exahaust only pointed this out very clearly in a VTEC Vs MIVEC shootout in Singapore a few months back.

I'm sure I had other Colt Cyborg/Lancer MR links but they seem to have vanished. If they turn up I'll post 'em here!
