Thanks guys, yeah to 'pull one out of the bag' with no morning practice was as good as can be expected (especially with a hangover ). Unfortunately I didn't improve on the 2nd run and Mike took his record back again! The record to beat next year is now a 53.56s.

Overall Tiddles ran great all weekend, the only issue is the starter button failed when I went to load her onto the trailer to come home. Other than that she's been reliable for 5 events in a row.

I'll update later with videos etc. Just back into work with a serious list of jobs to get done so it'll have to wait until later tonight

what is mike's surname and what is he driving?
Mike Turpin, Vauxhall VX220 supercharged - purpose built for the class. It's only 750Kg.

In-Car video uploading now :smthumbup

I'll do a report on the event later when I get time

Somebody please find a tyre sponsor for Donald!
Yes, please!

This is still last years Avons so there's no doubt a new set would have produced quicker times ;)

Here's the in car video:

Still more to come once the driver grows some gonads

Pretty sure Mike used the car in the Supercar class in Rallycross before turning to Hillclimbing so it's not your average 220! As Donald says it,s very light too and he can fair pedal it.
Tiddles looks proper quick Donald, can't wait to see it in the flesh one day.

Yea he was saying he's an experienced grasstrack racer turned hillclimber and the car does look very quick with him at the wheel. It was nice to have someone to push and be pushed by over the weekend, the best way to hammer records ;)

I have some trackside videos, just waiting for them to arrive :)

A few plans but they depend on how my other projects go TBH. I have a lot to do this winter as I still haven't managed to finish the extension to our workshop .

I plan another exhaust for the wastegates on their own as the 3.5" exhaust is too restrictive. This is a big job as space to feed it through under the car is a problem and some other parts will need re-engineered at the same time. I expect the new exhaust to give us more mid and top end though. How much i'm not sure but from data we have I expect another 50hp minimum :D.

The engine will be rebuilt, how far we need to go will depend on its condition, it hasn't been touched in 2 1/2 years . The side pods and rear bumper are still the original GRP ones so I plan to make carbon and take another 30Kg off the car.

Other than that just the usual stripdown and condition check. No doubt any parts being replaced will be modified into better or lighter parts

Update:

Not much movement on Tiddles so far this winter, too many other things to do :blah:

I've started making the carbon rear bumper/diffuser and hope to have it out of the mould at the weekend. From the area of carbon used in it's construction i'm hoping the complete bumper and diffuser will weigh only 4kg :D

The 'development' GRP bumper that i've been using for 4 years is weighing in at 19kg  as it seems to have absorbed moisture in its core. That should be another 15kg off the car :smthumbup

We still have the engine to rebuild and the new exhaust to make plus a few other mods to the Twincharger system while it's all apart. The side pods are next on the hitlist to be made in carbon

I'll post up some photos of the bumper once it's finished ;)
